After the success of its 2018 festival, WORD Christchurch is promising to keep lovers of books and ideas happy with its upcoming 2019 Autumn Season.

With nine events from the 8 to 25 May, featuring eight writers, the WORD Christchurch Autumn Season includes a fearless feminist, a Hip-Hop artist and writer, a flamboyant poet, three popular novelists, a world-renowned podcaster and a legendary New Zealand musician.

The Autumn Season is presented in partnership with the Auckland Writers Festival and the Dunedin Writers Festival.

Featuring Clementine Ford (Boys Will Be Boys), Akala (Natives), Luke Wright (The Toll), John Boyne (A Ladder to the Sky), Markus Zusak (The Book Thief, Bridge of Clay), The Allusionist, Graeme Simsion (The Rosie Project) and Shayne Carter (Dead People I Have Known).

Books will be on sale at each event thanks to University Bookshop Canterbury.
